Jurisdictional Prelate, Southwest Michigan Agape Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction

    Bishop Isaac King, Jr. was born in Glendora Mississippi. The King family moved to Detroit, Michigan when he was 4 years old. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 14. Five years later, he was called to the ministry, He received his ministerial license and was later ordained as an elder. At the age of 29, he was appointed Pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in Inkster, MI. In addition to 4 years of pastoral service at Pentecostal Temple, he also served 18 years as the pastor of Greater Northwest Church of God in Christ. Many homes and marriages have been reconciled through the prayer and counseling ministries of these churches. The homeless have been housed, clothed and fed through the outreach programs.

As part of his vision, he founded Inkster Christian Academy in 1979, serving grades K-12. In 1990, Bishop King organized the Pentecostal Temple Day Care Center. Later that year, a building was erected to house the Academy and Day Care at a cost of $2.5 million.  In 1997, Bishop King secured a charter, in partnership with the Inkster Board of Education, to operate King Academy, a K-6 public charter school.  He founded Alpha-Omega Education Management, a company providing professional education services for charter schools.

Bishop King received his formal education in Detroit, Michigan, graduating from Central High School.  He also attended Highland Park Community College and the Detroit Bible College.  An honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree was conferred on Bishop King from Shreveport Bible College.

Bishop King has been married to Margaret Jewel Gordy King for over 54 years. They are proud of their three children: Karen, Kyra and Kevin. They also have 14 grandchildren.

Bishop Marvin C. Pryor

Jurisdictional Prelate, Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Southwest Michigan

Bishop Pryor has served as the celebrated pastor of Victorious Believers Ministries since 1984. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant growth. Bishop Pryor's commendable leadership and administrative finesse attributed to his current elevation to the episcopacy of the Church of God in Christ on May 9, 1996. As the jurisdictional prelate of The Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Southwest Michigan, he oversees more than 30 churches throughout the state of Michigan. VBM is the state headquarters for the jurisdictional office.

Bishop Pryor's academic and professional background include 30 years as an educator in the Flint, Michigan Community School System. He served 24 years as an Administrator of which 16 years as the Principal of Flint Northern High School. Bishop Pryor has also served as a guest lecturer at the Living Word Bible College in France and conducted national seminars for church leaders on Church Growth and Leadership. He has been consistently saluted throughout the community and academia for a job well done. Bishop Pryor holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and History from Michigan State University and an M.A. degree in Guidance and Counseling from The University of Michigan. His doctoral studies at The University of Michigan are in Educational Administration and Leadership.

He is the devoted husband of Mrs. Ruth C. Pryor and loving father of four adult children: Derrick (Gwen), Vonda, Mel and Chris (Kenyatta). They have two grandchildren, Alexis Cierra and Loren Amari . In 1990, Bishop Pryor was awarded, "Father of the Year" by Mayor Woodrow Stanley of Flint.
